Welcome to The Holistic Wellness Center. Take a moment to read more about how The Center was created, the background of our director, and what we stand for.
How The Center Came To Be

I was born a product of the United States Navy, moving around the world every three years. I married a Marine in 1990 and was prepared to continue this lifestyle. My husband was medically discharged in 1993, which prompted our move to Flintstone Georgia. My family was originally from Atlanta, but I knew Atlanta was not a place I wanted to live or raise a family. Hello North Georgia. Fitness has been a part of my journey my whole life, it was something I was always drawn to. In school, I played multiple sports, even after school, I continued to find ways to move and eventually teach group classes and workouts. I eventually went on to get certified to teach aerobics, spin, kickboxing, Silver Sneakers, weight training and many more. I was invited to my first yoga class in March of 2000. I was both physically and mentally challenged and left curious and wanting more. I have been practicing yoga regularly since then. I signed up for my first yoga certification in 2015, went on to train in more styles of yoga. In 2017 I received another certification through a local studio in Chattanooga. Since then and currently up to date, I continue to train and study the eight limbs of the yoga world. In 2019, my father was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. The world stopped, as I knew it. I took on the role as a caretaker for him, along with helping my mother any way I could. Watching him constantly take medicine and driving him to doctors for so many treatments, I knew there was an alternate way of treatment and lifestyle that I could attain to help him, myself and others. In 2020, enter The School of Ayurveda. Life science yoga. This ancient old Eastern approach to lifestyle changes and herbal medicines, along with diet changes from root causes, was fascinating, and a path shift I am currently still on. I will graduate as a Holistic Medical Practitioner, Counselor, certified through NAMA/NAMAC and the School of Ayurveda in December 2023. The Holistic Wellness Center was a seed I had planted many years ago. While setting some goals and allowing some roots to make a firm foundation, I have brought all my knowledge and trainings home to Georgia. For years I taught in local studios in Chattanooga, all to be told, to teach here, this is what you can and can’t do. I taught at local churches, again the same thing, You can’t……. All the while never seeing the box I was shoved into. I walked away from all of it in 2020 when Covid hit to caretake daddy and train to find my own style. This Center location was presented to me. I didn’t know if I was ready, or even if it was the right time. It was when I slowed down, to really listen and meditate on what my heart and GOD was saying and leading me to, that my eyes were opened fully. This has been a seed that I have manifested years ago, watered, pruned and now flourish. I am honored to share my gifts any way I can with a different approach to movement and stillness. My faith will not waiver! The basis of who I am is rooted in faith and rising in love. A mantra I have meditated on for years. Now, I will share with you. So, Welcome to The Holistic Wellness Center of Fort O. Namaste, Cindy
